One of the main problems facing Adwords advertisers is a low click through rate. This causes other problems, such as a lower ad position and higher click costs, since an ad's click through rate is one of the determinants of Adwords' Quality Score.
1. Include your keyword phrase that you are targeting in your ad. Make sure it is in your headline and body copy. If possible, get it into your domain name too! Although that might not be viable because you would have to create a lot of domain names. But if you are targeting only a few keywords, this might be a useful strategy. Why do you want to include your keyword phrase in your ad? Because users will see the phrase in bold when they see your ad. It makes your ad 'stand out' more.
2. Ask questions. Ask a question in your headline and your body copy. People always want to see what the answers are to questions, especially questions which relate to their problems.
3. Make your ads different from the rest. If everyone's ad is long, write a short ad to look different!
